Nonprofit Driven Regional Connects

Nonprofit Driven (NPD) Regional Connects is ONN’s traveling event series that moves away from hosting a single annual conference, towards taking a distributed and community-driven approach to getting together.
Having intentional spaces to connect with nonprofit peers over shared issues, and to reimagine better futures is critical in supporting day-to-day work and wellness.
Nonprofits, charities, and community groups across the province are invited to connect over pressing topics and collective issues. Hosted in collaboration with local networks, NPD aims to localize big issues, uncover opportunities for collaboration and learning, and invest in deepening relationships.
Far from a stuffy conference, NPD Regional Connects is a space to get candid, and have real conversations. In the current climate, it鈥檚 more important than ever for us to be investing in direct relationships with the network. The power of networks is critical in moments of change.

A network approach
Since 2013, ONN has convened with local networks and nonprofits in many different regions across the province. Over the years, our approach to these events has evolved to meet the needs of the sector. ONN’s core belief that informs our network approach is that complex issues cannot be addressed alone or in siloes, and that the power and wisdom is in the network.

Nonprofit Driven Regional Connects began in 2023, by the end of 2026, ONN will have visited 17 different regions to build relationships with nonprofits, and sector supporters.
Regions visited since 2023 (including 2026): Ottawa, Waterloo region, Timmins, Niagara region, Thunder Bay, Prince Edward County/Hastings, Chatham-Kent, Durham region, Hamilton, Greater Toronto Area, London and area, Peterborough, Sault Ste. Marie-Algoma, Halton region, Simcoe county, and SudburyWindsor-Essex.
